Class levels
This framework is developed by Council of Europe and concerns all modern languages. It allows having an idea about the student general and communicative language competences.
It is essential to allow assessment, coordination and dialogue between the learners and help us to plan learning programs for classes and determine the level of proficiency acquired by each student.
Going from one level to another will depend on each student ability, motivation, and prior skills in French. Note that the higher the level, the more challenging are the tasks to be undertaken.
Absolute beginner, or beginner with very limited knowledge of French. After about 50 hours of study you should be able to :

- make contact with others

A1: False beginner/Elementary level After about 100 hours of study you should be able to :

- communicate in a spontaneous way in social and professional contexts
